Old Orhei, Giuseppe Verdi, open air festival and Friedrich Pfeiffer. What do these elements have in common? The answer is: DescOperă!

DescOpera

DescOperă is the first open air festival of classic music organised in the Republic of Moldova. Moreover, it was the first open air opera I attended, but this post is not about me… it is about me persuading you to visit Moldova. 😛

For this summer, I wrote a TO DO list and guess which was the first point in it? Right, it was the “Rigoletto” Opera. It was one of the best festivals organized in Moldova!

It was organised for the 25 years of independence of the Republic of Moldova –  a good way to pre-celebrate I would say (the independence day is on the 27 of August).

Another element that made it unforgettable was the fact that it took place in one of the most beautiful and loved by the tourists places – The Old Orhei. The decorations matched perfectly the natural beauty of this place and made me believe that I was somewhere far away spying on Rigoletto, Gilda and the Duke. It made me dream for all three acts and even the cold of the evening couldn’t make me move from there.

At the risk of repeating myself, events like this one make me proud of my country. All those were possible thanks to people that promote Moldova, instead of complaining.

From year to year, there are more festivals and attractions for the tourists and for us – citizens. This is amazing, thanks to all those activities I don’t feel trapped in the country. I have a variety of events to attend and places to visit.

P.S. Visit the Republic of Moldova, you will be amazed by its beauties! 😉
